What’s Cookin'? #6 - New Update Coming This Saturday!😁
A new week dawns on us, and with that, yet another week of developing Just Keep Running for us!
For anyone curious about Saturday’s upcoming hotfix update, let us enlighten you a little bit!
📈Version 1.2.1: The Pick-Up System gets a lot of improvements!

A lot of feedback has been given to us about the Pick-Up System in Just Keep Running, and the majority of this update is primarily focused on improving the system based on what people have been requesting.
First of all, Near-Object Transparency is here! People had problems with being able to see the game world when holding a large item like a cube, even at the default FOV. So, a select few big objects, such as cubes, now become slightly see-thru whenever they are picked up, and get increasingly more transparent the closer it gets to the camera.

Another thing that has been improved is how picked-up objects behave when being held. If an object cannot reach its intended target location when picked up, say a wall is in the way of the intended location, it’ll instead adjust to the environment around them and find an appropriate location to hover at. This’ll hopefully prevent especially smaller objects from getting stuck in certain spots and clipping through solid surfaces.
Outlines around interactable objects now also use a different method that both works with the previously stated Near-Object Transparency and looks slightly prettier than it did before!
🧳A Vacation Long Overdue

I’ll be taking a small vacation this week, just to take some time away from game development and celebrate the summer a bit (which is also why the update is scheduled for Saturday, the day after I get back home).
I’ll still be working on the game whenever I have time, but mostly on housekeeping stuff for the next hotfix and nothing else major.

As we did previously, we’d like to thank and shoutout out some content creators and streamers who played our game!
MiaLinn625 on Twitch is a fellow Swede and personal buddy of mine, and she decided to check out the game for herself! The VOD seemingly disappeared (thanks Twitch for messing up, surely that must be the FIRST TIME they’ve ever done that… Like, ever. 😒), but please do check out her channel!
